Ethiopian Beef Tibs
A traditional Ethiopian dish made with sautéed beef and spices. Serve with injera bread for a delicious and authentic meal.
Ingredients
- ●1 pound beef stripssirloin or ribeye work well
- ●1 medium onionthinly sliced
- ●3 cloves garlicminced
- ●1 tablespoon gingergrated
- ●2 tablespoons berbere spiceEthiopian chili powder
- ●1 teaspoon saltto taste
- ●1/2 teaspoon black pepperto taste
- ●2 tablespoons vegetable oilfor frying
Instructions

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add beef strips and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes.

Remove beef from skillet and set aside.

Add onion, garlic, and ginger to skillet and cook until onion is translucent.

Add berbere spice, salt, and black pepper to skillet and stir to combine.

Add cooked beef back to skillet and stir to combine with spice mixture.

Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until beef is coated with spice mixture.

Serve hot, garnished with chopped fresh cilantro if desired.
