Warm German Stew
A hearty and comforting German-inspired stew made with sauerkraut and a variety of meats.
Ingredients
- ●1 pound pork shoulder
- ●2 medium potatoes
- ●1 large carrots
- ●1 medium onions
- ●1 cup sauerkraut
- ●2 cups beef broth
- ●2 tablespoons tomato paste
- ●to taste black pepper
Instructions

1. In a large Dutch oven or pot, heat some oil over medium-high heat.

2. Sear the pork shoulder until browned on all sides, then set aside.

3. Add more oil if necessary, then sauté the onions until softened.

4. Add the carrots and potatoes, cooking until they begin to soften.

5. Add the beef broth, tomato paste, and browned pork shoulder.

6. Bring the stew to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes.

7. Stir in the sauerkraut and continue to simmer for another 20-30 minutes, or until the meat is tender.
