Beef Kaldereta Stir Fry
A Chinese-inspired twist on the classic Filipino beef kaldereta dish. This stir-fry is quick, easy, and packed with flavor.
Ingredients
- β1 pound beef (sirloin or ribeye)cut into bite-sized pieces
- β2 tablespoons kalderetaFilipino-style tomato sauce
- β2 tablespoons soy sauceor to taste
- β1 tablespoon oyster sauceoptional
- β1 tablespoon brown sugaror to taste
- β1 tablespoon rice vinegaror to taste
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1 tablespoon gingergrated
- β1 bunch scallionschopped

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the beef and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes.

Remove the beef from the wok and set aside.

Add the garlic and ginger to the wok and stir-fry until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

Add the kaldereta sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), and brown sugar to the wok.

Stir to combine and bring the sauce to a simmer.

Return the beef to the wok and stir to coat with the sauce.

Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened and the beef is cooked through.
