Mediterranean Lamb Tagine
A hearty, flavorful tagine originating from North Africa, featuring tender lamb and aromatic spices.
Ingredients
- β1.5 pounds Lamb shoulder
- β2 tablespoons Olive oilfor browning
- β1 medium Onionchopped
- β3 cloves Garlicminced
- β1 teaspoon Cuminground
- β1/2 teaspoon Cinnamonground
- β1/2 teaspoon Gingerground
- β1/2 teaspoon Salt
- β1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
- β1/4 cup Chopped fresh parsleyfor garnish

1. Preheat oven to 300Β°F (150Β°C).

2. Season the lamb shoulder with salt, black pepper, cumin, cinnamon, and ginger.

3. Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

4. Sear the lamb shoulder until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.

5. Add the chopped onion to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

6. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.

7. Add the lamb shoulder back to the pot, along with 1 cup of water.

8. Cover the pot and transfer it to the preheated oven.

9. Braise the lamb for 2 1/2 hours, or until tender.
