Saudi Arabian Speck Feast
A hearty, flavorful dish from Saudi Arabia, perfect for a festive occasion.
Ingredients
- β1 cup Rice (Bowl rice)preferably basmati
- β6 slices Speck (German bacon)diced
- β1 medium Onionchopped
- β3 cloves Garlicminced
- β1 tsp Cuminground
- β1 tsp Corianderground
- β1/2 tsp Cayenne pepperoptional
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black pepper
- β4-6 pieces Warm pita bread

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the diced speck and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the minced garlic, cumin, coriander, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1 minute.

Add the cooked rice to the skillet and stir to combine with the spice mixture.

Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the rice is heated through.

Warm the pita bread by wrapping it in foil and heating it in the oven for a few minutes.
