Ethiopian Fir Fir Pastry
A traditional Ethiopian pastry with a warm and smoky flavor, wrapped in a flaky puff pastry crust.
Ingredients
- β2 cups Fir fir flour
- β1 sheet Puff pastry
- β1 tsp Warm spicesMix of cinnamon, cardamom, and ginger
- β1/2 tsp Smoked paprika
- β1/4 cup Fir fir sugar
- β1 EggBeaten
- β1/4 tsp Salt
- β1 tbsp Water

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Roll out puff pastry to a thickness of 1/8 inch.

In a separate bowl, mix fir fir flour, warm spices, smoked paprika, fir fir sugar, egg, and salt.

Place the fir fir mixture in the center of the pastry rectangle, leaving a 1 inch border around it.

Brush the edges of the pastry with water.

Fold the pastry over the filling, pressing the edges to seal.

Use a knife to create a decorative edge.
