Sunday Slovakian Chicken Stew
A hearty Slovakian-inspired stew made with chicken thighs, warming spices, and lazy Sunday comfort food vibes.
Ingredients
- β4 lbs Chicken thighs
- β2 medium Onionchopped
- β1 tsp Caraway seeds
- β2 tsp Paprikasmoked
- β3 cloves Garlicminced
- β4 cups Chicken broth
- β2 cups Water
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black pepper
Instructions

Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Season the chicken with salt and pepper, then sear until browned on all sides. Remove from pot.

Add the chopped onion to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the caraway seeds and smoked paprika, cook for 1 minute.

Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add the chicken broth, water, and browned chicken back to the pot.

Bring to a boil, then cover and transfer to the oven.

Bake at 300Β°F (150Β°C) for 45 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
