Spicy Ethiopian Pasta
A flavorful and spicy twist on traditional pasta. Inspired by Ethiopian cuisine, this dish combines the warmth of lentils with the tanginess of pasta.
Ingredients
- β8 oz pasta
- β1 cup lentilcooked
- β1/4 cup charredroasted red onion
- β1 tsp ethiopianspice blend
- β1 tsp warmlyground cumin
Instructions

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium heat.

Add charred red onion and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Add cooked lentils, Ethiopian spice blend, and ground cumin. Stir to combine.

Add pasta to the skillet, tossing to combine with the lentil mixture.

If the pasta seems dry, add some reserved pasta water. Season with salt to taste.

Serve hot, garnished with additional charred red onion if desired.
