Indian Lamb Biryani
A flavorful and aromatic lamb biryani recipe with a blend of spices and basmati rice.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Lamb shouldercut into 1-inch pieces
- β2 cups Basmati riceuncooked
- β2 tablespoons Gheeclarified butter
- β1 medium Onionchopped
- β3 cloves Garlicminced
- β1-inch piece Gingergrated
- β1 teaspoon Cumin seedswhole
- β1 teaspoon Coriander powderground
- β1/2 teaspoon Red chili powderground
- β1 teaspoon Saltto taste

Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat.

Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.

Add chopped onion and cook until it's lightly browned.

Add minced garlic and grated ginger. Cook for 1 minute.

Add lamb pieces and cook until they're browned on all sides.

Add coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.

Add basmati rice to the pan and mix well with the lamb and spice mixture.

Add 2 cups of water to the pan and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low, cover the pan, and cook for 20-25 minutes.
