Turkish Kisir Salad
A simple, refreshing salad originating from Turkey, made with bulgur, onions, tomatoes, and spices. Kisir is a perfect side dish for hot summer days.
Ingredients
- β1 cup Bulgur
- β1/2 cup Red Onionfinely chopped
- β1 cup Cherry Tomatoeshalved
- β1/4 cup Fresh Parsleychopped
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black Pepper
- β1/4 teaspoon Turkish Red Pepper Flakes
- β2 tablespoons Lemon Juice

1. In a large bowl, combine the bulgur and 2 cups of water. Let it soak for 30 minutes, then drain the water and set aside.

2. In a separate bowl, combine the chopped onion, halved cherry tomatoes, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and Turkish red pepper flakes.

3. Add the drained bulgur to the bowl with the onion mixture and stir well.

4. Squeeze the lemon juice over the salad and toss to combine.

5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
