Ethiopian Wheat Flatbread
A traditional Ethiopian flatbread made with wholesome wheat flour and cooked to perfection.
Ingredients
- β2 cups Wheat flour
- β1 cup Water
- β1 tsp Salt
- β1 tsp Vegetable oil
- β1 tsp Active dry yeast
Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the wheat flour, salt, and yeast.

Gradually add the water and mix until a dough forms.

Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.

Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.

Divide the dough into 4-6 equal portions and roll each portion into a ball.

Flatten each ball into a disk using a rolling pin or your hands.

Place the disks on the preheated skillet or griddle and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side, until they are golden brown and cooked through.

Brush the flatbreads with vegetable oil and serve warm.
