Bitter German Cheese Fritters
A unique dish combining the bitterness of German beer and the richness of cheese, perfect as a snack or dessert.
Ingredients
- β1/4 cup German beerused for marinating and adding flavor
- β1 cup, grated cheesestrong, hard cheese like cheddar or gouda
- β1/4 cup, chopped wilted lettuceadds a tangy flavor
- β1 cup flourfor coating the fritters
- β1/2 cup bake mixfor adding a sweet and crunchy texture
- β1 eggbinds the mixture together
- β2 tbsp butterfor frying the fritters

Preheat the oil in a deep frying pan to 350Β°F (180Β°C).

In a large bowl, combine the grated cheese, chopped wilted lettuce, flour, bake mix, and egg.

Marinate the mixture with the German beer for at least 30 minutes.

Using your hands, shape the mixture into small patties.

Coat the patties with a thin layer of flour.

Fry the fritters in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
