Hearty Uruguayan Cabbage Bake
A flavorful and comforting Uruguayan-inspired dish made with tender cabbage and a crispy breadcrumb topping.
Ingredients
- β1 head, shredded Cabbage
- β1 medium, chopped Onions
- β3 cloves, minced Garlic
- β2 tablespoons Tomato Paste
- β1 cup, gluten-free Breadcrumbs
- β2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black Pepper

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Add shredded cabbage and cook until tender, about 10 minutes.

Stir in tomato paste and season with salt and pepper. Set aside.

In a separate bowl, mix together breadcrumbs and a pinch of salt.

In a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, create a layer of cabbage mixture. Top with a layer of breadcrumbs.

Repeat the layers two more times, ending with a layer of breadcrumbs on top.
