Char Siu Bao
Steamed buns filled with a sweet and savory char siu pork filling, a classic Chinese dish.
Ingredients
- β1 cup Lentils
- β1 pound pork shoulder Char
- β2 tablespoons hoisin sauce Siu
- β4-6 steamed buns Bao
- β2 tablespoons soy sauce Chinese
- β2 tablespoons honey Molten
- β2 cloves garlic, minced Xenial
- β1 teaspoon Salt
- β1/2 teaspoon Pepper

1. Preheat oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

2. In a large bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, garlic, salt, and pepper. Add the pork and mix until coated.

3. Place the pork on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and roast for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.

4. While the pork is cooking, steam the buns according to package instructions.

5. Once the pork is cooked, shred it with two forks and add it to the bowl with the sauce. Mix until coated.

6. To assemble the bao, place a spoonful of the pork mixture onto the center of a steamed bun, then fold the bun over the filling to form a half-moon shape.

7. Serve the char siu bao hot, with additional sauce on the side if desired.

8. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
