Classic American Suet Pudding
A traditional British recipe made with suet and flour. Perfect for a hearty snack or dessert.
Ingredients
- ●100g suet
- ●200g all-purpose flour
- ●200g xtra sugar
- ●500ml creamy milk
- ●1 tsp american vanilla extract

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

In a large mixing bowl, rub the suet into the flour until it resembles breadcrumbs.

Add the sugar and mix until well combined.

Gradually add the milk and mix until a smooth batter is formed.

Add the vanilla extract and mix well.

Transfer the batter to a greased 1L pudding basin.

Cover the pudding with a piece of parchment paper and tie with string.

Place the pudding in a large saucepan and add enough hot water to come halfway up the side of the basin.

Bring the water to a boil, then cover the saucepan with a lid and simmer for 2 hours.

Remove the pudding from the water and let it cool for 10 minutes.

Serve the pudding warm, garnished with your choice of toppings.
