Classic British Shepherd's Pie
A comforting casserole made with ground beef, vegetables, and mashed potatoes. A staple of British cuisine.
Ingredients
- β1 pound ground beef
- β2 tablespoons xtra-virgin olive oil
- β1 medium onion
- β1 teaspoon flaky sea salt
- β2 large potato
- β1 cup bakeall-purpose flour
- β1 cup milk
- β1 cup grated cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large pan over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.

Add the olive oil, onion, and flaky sea salt to the pan and cook until the onion is softened.

In a separate pot, boil the potatoes until they are tender.

Mash the potatoes with the milk and grated cheddar cheese until smooth.

Transfer the beef mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Spread the mashed potato mixture over the top of the beef mixture.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden brown.
