Portuguese Flaky Pastry Tarts
Delicious pastries filled with a sweet marshmallow surprise. Inspired by traditional Portuguese cuisine.
Ingredients
- ●1 package flaky pastry doughavailable in most supermarkets
- ●1 bag marshmallows
- ●1 cup xtra sugargranulated sugar
- ●1 tsp portuguese vanilla extractoptional but recommended
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Roll out the flaky pastry dough to a thickness of about 1/8 inch.

Cut out circles of dough using a cookie cutter or the rim of a glass.

Place a marshmallow in the center of each dough circle.

Sprinkle a pinch of sugar over the marshmallow.

Fold the dough over the filling to form a triangle or a square.

Press the edges together to seal the pastry.

Brush the tops with a little water and sprinkle with sugar.

Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
