Delicious Venezuelan Chicken Empanadas
A classic Venezuelan dish, these empanadas are filled with juicy chicken and baked to perfection. Perfect for a snack or light meal.
Ingredients

- ●2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour xtra flourfor empanada dough
- ●1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened fluffy butterfor empanada dough
- ●1 cup shredded queso fresco venezuelan cheeseoptional
- ●4-6 empanada wrappers empanadasavailable at most Latin American markets
- ●to taste salt
- ●to taste black pepper

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large bowl, combine chicken, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.

Divide the chicken mixture evenly among the empanada wrappers, placing a tablespoon or two in the center of each wrapper.

Brush the edges of the empanada wrappers with water, then fold the dough over the filling, pressing the edges to seal.

Place the empanadas on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving about 1 inch of space between each empanada.

Brush the tops of the empanadas with the softened butter, then sprinkle with shredded cheese (if using).
