Biscuit Tagine
A twist on traditional Mexican cuisine, this biscuit tagine combines the warmth of spices with the flaky texture of biscuits.
Ingredients
- β1 cup, crumbled algerian biscuit
- β1 cup yeasty doughhomemade or store-bought
- β2 tbsp tagine spice blendor substitute with cumin and chili powder
- β2 tbsp vegetable oil
- β1 onionchopped
- β2 cloves garlicminced
- β1 red bell pepperdiced
- β1 can of diced tomatoes
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Roll out the yeasty dough to a thickness of 1/4 inch.

Cut out small squares of dough for the biscuit topping.

In a large pan, heat the oil over medium heat.

Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the red bell pepper and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Stir in the tagine spice blend and cook for 1 minute.

Add the diced tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with crumbled biscuit.
