Ukrainian Beef Dumplings
A hearty and comforting Ukrainian dish featuring beef dumplings in a flavorful broth.
Ingredients

- β1 teaspoon YeastActive dry yeast
- β1 package Chewy Dumpling DoughHomemade or store-bought chewy dumpling dough
- β1/4 teaspoon Salt
- β1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
- β1 cup Water
- β2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- β1 medium Onion
- β2 cloves Garlic
- β1 teaspoon Caraway Seeds

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, yeast, salt, black pepper, and caraway seeds. Mix well.

Divide the chewy dumpling dough into 8 equal pieces.

Roll out each piece of dough into a thin circle.

Place a tablespoon of the beef mixture in the center of each dough circle.

Fold the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape and press the edges together to seal.

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until the onion is translucent.

Add the dumplings to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.

Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the dumplings are cooked through.

To make the broth, combine 4 cups of beef broth, 1 tablespoon of tomato paste, and 1 teaspoon of dried thyme in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
