Saudi Arabian Flatbread
A traditional Saudi flatbread, perfect for snacking or as a side dish. Soft, lightly spiced and aromatic.
Ingredients
- β1 cup yeastyactive dry yeast
- β2 cups all-purposeflour
- β1/2 teaspoon seasoningsalt
- β2 tablespoons flatbreadolive oil
- β1/4 teaspoon saudiground black pepper
- β1/4 teaspoon arabianground cumin
- β1/4 cup crunchysesame seeds
- β1 cup allwarm water

In a large mixing bowl, combine yeast and warm water. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.

Add flour, salt, black pepper, and cumin to the bowl. Mix until a dough forms.

Knead the dough for 5 minutes until smooth.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

Divide the dough into 4-6 equal portions, depending on the desired size.

Roll each portion into a ball and then flatten it slightly into a disk shape.

Brush the tops with olive oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
