Syrian Shattering Chicken Tagine
A flavorful and aromatic chicken tagine from Syria, perfect for a weeknight dinner. The combination of chicken, vegetables, and spices will leave you wanting more.
Ingredients
- β1-2 lbs chicken breastboneless and skinless
- β2 tbsp olive oil
- β1 medium onionchopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β2 medium carrotspeeled and chopped
- β2 medium potatoespeeled and chopped
- β1 cup chicken broth
- β1 tsp cumin
- β1 tsp coriander
- β1 tsp paprika

Heat olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add onion and garlic and cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add carrots and potatoes and cook for another 5 minutes.

Add chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

Add chicken broth, cumin, coriander, and paprika. Stir to combine.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then cover the pot and transfer it to the oven.

Bake at 375Β°F (190Β°C) for 30-40 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the vegetables are tender.
