Canadian Yeast Gravy on Mushrooms
A savory and rich gravy made with Canadian yeast and served on top of sautéed mushrooms.
Ingredients
- ●2 teaspoons yeastyactive dry yeast
- ●1 cup mushroomsbutton or cremini
- ●1/4 cup canadianall-purpose flour
- ●1/4 cup gravyhomemade or store-bought
- ●2 tablespoons silkyolive oil
- ●optional oysteroyster mushrooms for added flavor

1. In a small bowl, mix together yeast and warm water to activate yeast.

2. In a separate pan, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté mushrooms until tender.

3. In a small saucepan, whisk together flour and gravy to make a roux, cooking for 1-2 minutes.

4. Add the yeast mixture to the roux and whisk until smooth.

5. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes or until thickened.

6. Serve the Canadian yeast gravy over sautéed mushrooms.

7. If using oyster mushrooms, add them on top of the gravy for added flavor.
