Chicken Fricassee
A classic French dish made with tender chicken and a rich, creamy sauce.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 pounds chicken breast
- β1 medium yellow onion
- β2 cups chinese broccoli
- β2 tablespoons la sauce (or all-purpose flour, butter, and chicken broth)see notes
- β1/2 cup tang wine (or dry white wine)optional
- β2 tablespoons ma cornstarchoptional
- β2 cups chicken broth
- β2 tablespoons melted butter
- βto taste salt
- βto taste black pepper
Instructions

Season the chicken with salt and pepper.

Heat the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until browned on both sides, about 5-7 minutes.

Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Add the onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the broccoli to the skillet and cook until tender, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the la sauce to the skillet and stir to combine.

Add the chicken broth to the skillet and stir to combine.

Return the chicken to the skillet and simmer until the sauce has thickened and the chicken is cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.

Serve the chicken hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.

If using, stir in the tang wine and ma cornstarch to thicken the sauce.
