Sauerbraten German Herb Pilaf
A classic German recipe with a twist, featuring marinated beef and herb pilaf.
Ingredients

- ●1 large yellow onion
- ●1 cup sauerkraut
- ●2 tablespoons german mustardstone-ground
- ●2 cups herb pilafmade with herbs like thyme and parsley
- ●1 teaspoon black pepper
- ●1 teaspoon salt
- ●1/2 teaspoon allspice
- ●1 cup red wine vinegarhigh-quality

1. Marinate the beef in a mixture of red wine vinegar, mustard, salt, pepper, and allspice for at least 2 days.

2. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).

3. In a large Dutch oven, heat a couple of tablespoons of oil over medium heat. Sear the beef until browned on all sides.

4. Add the sauerkraut, sautéed onions, and marinating liquid to the pot. Cover and transfer to the preheated oven.

5. Cook the beef for 3-4 hours or until tender.

6. While the beef is cooking, prepare the herb pilaf according to package instructions.

7. Once the beef is done, remove it from the pot and let it rest for 10 minutes.
