Algerian Chicken Tagine
A flavorful and aromatic North African stew made with chicken, onions, and spices, cooked to perfection in a clay pot.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 pounds chicken breast
- β1 medium yellow onion
- β2 tablespoons algerian spice blend
- β1 roasted red pepper
- β2 tablespoons olive oil
- β1 medium yellow bell pepper
Instructions

Heat oil in the bottom of a clay or ceramic tagine over medium heat.

Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the chicken and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.

Add the Algerian spice blend and cook for 1 minute.

Add the roasted red pepper and yellow bell pepper, and stir to combine.

Add 1 cup of water to the tagine and bring to a simmer.

Cover the tagine and cook over low heat for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.
