Traditional British Shepherd's Pie
A classic British dish made with ground meat, vegetables, and mashed potatoes. A comforting and satisfying meal for any time of the year.
Ingredients

- β1/4 cup blancall-purpose flour
- β1/4 cup yellowedmelted butter
- β1 cup richmilk
- β1 pound ground beef
- β1 medium onion
- β2 medium carrot
- β1 cup peas
- βto taste salt
- βto taste black pepper

Preheat oven to 350Β°F (180Β°C).

In a large pan over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.

Add the onion, carrot, and peas to the pan and cook until the vegetables are tender.

Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.

Gradually add the milk to the pan, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.

Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until it thickens.

Transfer the mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Spread the mashed potatoes over the top of the mixture.

Dot the top of the potatoes with the melted butter.

Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden brown.
