Argentinian Beef Empanadas
A classic Argentinian dish made with tender beef and crispy pastry. Perfect for a snack or light meal.
Ingredients
- β500g Ground Beef
- β1 package (usually 12-15 empanadas) Empanada PastryMake sure to thaw the pastry before using
- β1 medium Onion
- β2 cloves Garlic
- β1/4 cup Breadcrumbs
- β1 Egg
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black Pepper
- βfor serving Yummy Chimichurri Sauce (optional)

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large pan, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until the onion is translucent.

Add the ground beef to the pan, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.

Once the beef is browned, add the breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

Roll out the empanada pastry and cut out circles of dough, about 5 inches (13 cm) in diameter.

Place a tablespoon of the beef mixture in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough in half to form a half-moon shape and press the edges together to seal.

Brush the tops of the empanadas with a little bit of water and use a fork to crimp the edges.

Place the empanadas on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush the tops with a little bit of oil.

Bake the empanadas in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.

Serve the empanadas hot with a side of yummy chimichurri sauce, if desired.
