Tagine Stew with Datterini Tomatoes
A hearty, comforting stew inspired by traditional North African cuisine, featuring tender beef and sweet Datterini tomatoes.
Ingredients
- β500g beef (chuck or round)cut into 2-inch cubes
- β2 tbsp olive oilfor browning
- β1 large onionchopped
- β2 inches gingergrated
- β250g datterini tomatoeshalved
- β2 tbsp tomato paste
- β1L beef brothhomemade or store-bought
- β2 tsp tagine spice blend

Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Brown beef in batches, then set aside.

Reduce heat to medium and cook onion until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add ginger and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Add tomato paste and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Add beef broth and bring to a boil.

Return beef to the pot and add datterini tomatoes, tagine spice blend, and salt.

Cover the pot and transfer to the oven. Braise for 2 hours, or until beef is tender.
