Sicilian Chickpea Fritters
A crispy and flavorful twist on traditional chickpea fritters, inspired by Sicilian cuisine.
Ingredients
- β1 can (14.5 oz) chickpea
- β1 cup flour
- β2 tsp yummyoptional
- β1 cup puffscrushed
- βto taste salt
- βto taste black pepper

Preheat the oil in a deep frying pan to 350Β°F (180Β°C).

Drain and rinse the chickpeas.

In a large bowl, mash the chickpeas using a fork.

Add the flour, yummy, salt, and black pepper to the bowl. Mix well.

Gradually add the crushed puffs to the bowl and mix until a thick dough forms.

Using a spoon, drop small balls of the dough into the hot oil.

Fry the fritters for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.

Using a slotted spoon, remove the fritters from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
