Beef and Dumplings Stew
A hearty beef stew made with tender dumplings and a rich savory broth.
Ingredients
- β1 pound beef stew meat Beef
- β1 package (16-20 dumplings) Dumplings
- β2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
- β1 medium onion, chopped Onion
- β2 medium carrots, peeled and chopped Carrots
- β2 medium potatoes, peeled and chopped Potatoes
- β4 cups beef broth Beef Broth
- β2 teaspoons Savory Soup Mix
- β1 teaspoon Salt
- β1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper

Heat the oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add the beef and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Remove the beef from the pot and set aside.

Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the carrots and potatoes and cook for 2 minutes.

Add the beef broth, savory soup mix, salt, and pepper.

Return the beef to the pot and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 1 1/2 hours.

Add the dumplings to the pot and cook for an additional 15 minutes.
