Beef Tagine with Zesty Flair
A twist on the classic North African dish, this beef tagine is marinated in a zesty blend of spices and slow-cooked to perfection.
Ingredients
- β1 Beef Cutlet1 pound, thinly sliced
- β2 tablespoons Algerian Tagine Spice BlendAvailable at most Middle Eastern markets
- β1/4 cup Zesty MarinadeMix of lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, and herbs
- β1 medium OnionChopped
- β3 cloves GarlicMinced
- β1 tablespoon GingerGrated
- β2 tablespoons Tomato PasteDissolved in 2 tablespoons of water
- β2 cups Chicken BrothLow-sodium
- β1 teaspoon SaltTo taste
- β1/2 teaspoon Black PepperTo taste

In a large bowl, whisk together zesty marinade, Algerian tagine spice blend, salt, and black pepper. Add sliced beef and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Heat a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Remove beef from marinade and cook until browned, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Add onion, garlic, and ginger to the pot and cook until onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add tomato paste and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Add chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 1 1/2 hours, or until beef is tender.
