Australian Meat Pie
A classic Australian dish made with ground meat and flaky pastry.
Ingredients
- β500g Australian beefGround beef
- β1 sheet Flaky pastryThawed
- β1 medium Zesty onionChopped
- β1 tsp Meat pie spice
- β Salt and pepper
- β1 cup Water

Preheat oven to 180Β°C (350Β°F).

Roll out the flaky pastry to a thickness of 3mm.

Transfer the pastry to a 20cm pie dish.

In a pan over medium heat, cook the Australian beef until browned.

Add the zesty onion and cook until softened.

Add the meat pie spice and stir to combine.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Pour the beef mixture into the pastry-lined pie dish.

Brush the edges of the pastry with water.

Roll out the remaining pastry to a thickness of 3mm.

Place the pastry on top of the pie and crimp the edges.

Cut a few slits in the top of the pie to allow steam to escape.
