Croatian Lamb Biryani
A flavorful and aromatic dish from Croatia, combining lamb with the spices of biryani.
Ingredients
- β1 pound lambcut into 1-inch pieces
- β1 teaspoon croatianpaprika
- β2 cups biryanibasmati rice
- β1/4 cup zestychopped fresh parsley
- β3 tablespoons fluffyghee or vegetable oil
- βto taste salt
- βto taste black pepper
- β1 teaspoon garam masala

Heat the ghee or oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the lamb and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

Add the paprika, garam masala, salt, and pepper, and stir to combine.

Add the basmati rice and stir to coat the lamb and rice with the spice mixture.

Transfer the mixture to a large saucepan and add 2 cups of water.

Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover.

Simmer for 18-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the liquid has been absorbed.
