Slovakian Wonton Dumplings
Traditional Slovakian dumplings filled with a savory mixture of meat and spices, served with a side of zesty sauce.
Ingredients
- β12-15 wrappers wonton wrappersavailable at most Asian grocery stores
- β1 pound ground pork80/20 lean to fat ratio
- β1 medium onionfinely chopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β2 tablespoons zestySlovakian zesty sauce
- β1 teaspoon slovakian herbssuch as paprika and marjoram

- βas needed waterfor wrapping dumplings

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground pork, chopped onion, minced garlic, zesty sauce, Slovakian herbs, and salt. Mix well with your hands until just combined.

Lay a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Place a tablespoon of the pork mixture in the center of the wrapper.

Dip your finger in water and run it along the edges of the wrapper. Fold the wrapper into a triangle by bringing the two opposite corners together to form a point.

Press the edges together to seal the dumpling. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and pork mixture.

In a large pot or steamer, bring 2-3 inches of water to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low and place a steamer basket over the pot.

Place the dumplings in the steamer basket, leaving some space between each dumpling. Cover the pot with a lid.

Steam the dumplings for 8-10 minutes, or until they are cooked through and the wrappers are translucent.

Serve the dumplings hot with a side of zesty sauce for dipping.
