Frankfurter Dal Tadka
A twist on traditional Indian dal, featuring a spicy frankfurter tadka for added flavor.
Ingredients
- ●1 cup dalsplit red or yellow
- ●2 cups waterfor cooking dal
- ●2 frankfurterfor tadka
- ●1/4 cup oil for fryingghee or vegetable oil
- ●1 medium onionchopped
- ●1-inch piece gingergrated
- ●1 tsp cumin seedsfor tadka
- ●1 tsp garam masalafor tadka
- ●1 tsp saltor to taste
- ●for garnish chopped cilantro
Instructions

Heat oil for frying in a pan over medium heat.

Add cumin seeds, let sizzle for 1-2 seconds.

Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent.

Add grated ginger and sauté for 1 minute.

Add dal and 2 cups of water to the pan.

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes.

While dal is cooking, heat oil for frying in a separate pan over medium heat.

Add frankfurter and cook until browned on all sides.

Add garam masala, salt, and 1 cup of water to the pan.

Simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.

To assemble the dish, place cooked dal in a bowl and top with the frankfurter tadka.
