Kinako Pancakes with Zesty Syrup
A twist on traditional pancakes, these kinako pancakes are flavored with the nutty taste of kinako and served with a zesty syrup for a delicious breakfast treat.
Ingredients
- β1 cup kinakoroasted soybean flour
- β1 package pancakesgluten-free mix
- β2 eggs
- β1 cup milkdairy or non-dairy
- β1/2 cup zesty syrupsee instructions
- β1 tsp pillsburyoptional
- β1 tsp cinnamonoptional

In a large bowl, whisk together kinako and gluten-free pancake mix.

In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs and milk.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until combined.

If using, add 1 tsp of pillsbury and 1 tsp of cinnamon, and mix well.

Heat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat.

Using a 1/4 cup measuring cup, scoop the batter onto the pan.

Cook for 2-3 minutes, until bubbles appear on the surface and edges start to dry.

Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes, until golden brown.

Serve with zesty syrup (see below).

To make zesty syrup, mix together 1/2 cup of powdered sugar, 1/4 cup of milk, and 1 tsp of vanilla extract in a small bowl.

Add 1 tsp of lemon juice and stir until combined.

Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer for 2-3 minutes, until thickened.
