Smoky Algerian Salmon Tagine
A flavorful and aromatic dish featuring smoky salmon cooked in a zesty tagine sauce, inspired by Algerian cuisine.
Ingredients
- β4 x 6 oz Salmon fillets
- β2 tsp Zesty tagine spice blendAvailable at most Middle Eastern or North African markets
- β1 tsp Smoked Paprika
- β2 tbsp Olive oil
- β1 Onion
- β3 cloves Garlic
- β1 tsp Algerian spice blend ( Ras el hanout )Available at most Middle Eastern or North African markets
- β1/4 cup Fresh parsley
- β1/4 cup Chopped fresh cilantro
- β2 tbsp Lemon juice
Instructions

Heat the olive oil in the bottom of a clay or ceramic tagine over medium heat.

Add the sliced onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Add the zesty tagine spice blend, smoked paprika, and Algerian spice blend, and cook for 1 minute.

Add the salmon fillets and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until cooked through.

Serve the salmon hot, garnished with fresh parsley and cilantro, and a squeeze of lemon juice.

Serve over couscous or rice, if desired.
