Smoky Beef Pirozhki
A twist on traditional Russian pirozhki, filled with slow-cooked beef and spices.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Beefcut into 1-inch cubes
- β1 package Pirozhki doughhomemade or store-bought
- β2 tablespoons Zesty Russian spice blendor to taste
- β1 teaspoon Smoked paprikaoptional
- β1 medium Onionchopped
- β2 tablespoons Buttermelted

Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a large skillet, cook the beef and onion over medium-high heat until browned.

Add zesty Russian spice blend, smoked paprika, and melted butter to the skillet.

Simmer the beef mixture for 10-15 minutes or until the flavors have melded together.

Roll out the pirozhki dough to a thickness of about 1/4 inch (6 mm).

Cut out circles of dough using a cookie cutter or the rim of a glass.

Place a tablespoon or two of the beef mixture onto the center of each dough circle.

Fold the dough over the filling and press the edges together to seal the pirozhki.

Place the pirozhki on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Brush the tops with a little bit of melted butter and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
