Jamaican Goat Stew
A hearty and flavorful stew made with tender goat meat, aromatic spices, and a hint of Jamaican jerk seasoning.
Ingredients
- β1 pound goat meat (1 lb)cut into 1-inch cubes
- β2 tablespoons aromatic oilsuch as olive or vegetable oil

- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β2 teaspoons jamaican jerk seasoningstore-bought or homemade
- β2 cups stewbeef broth or stock
- β2 tablespoons tomato pasteoptional
- β1 sprig thymefresh or dried
- β1/2 teaspoon allspiceground

Heat the aromatic oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.

Add the goat meat and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

Add the Jamaican jerk seasoning, stew, tomato paste (if using), thyme, and allspice.

Bring the stew to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, or until the goat meat is tender.
