Chicken Tikka Masala
A popular Indian-inspired dish made with marinated chicken in a rich and creamy tomato sauce.
Ingredients
- β1 1/2 pounds chickenboneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs
- β2 medium sweet potatoesdiced
- β2 teaspoons garam masalaground
- β1 teaspoon cuminground
- β1 teaspoon corianderground
- β1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepperoptional
- β1 can tomato puree14.5 oz
- β1 cup heavy creamor coconut cream
- β1 teaspoon saltor to taste
- β1/2 teaspoon black pepperor to taste

1. Preheat the oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

2. In a large bowl, whisk together garam masala, cumin, coriander, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper.

3. Add the chicken to the bowl and toss to coat with the spice mixture.

4. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

5. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.

6. Transfer the chicken to a plate and set aside.

7. In the same skillet, add the diced sweet potatoes and cook until tender, about 5-7 minutes.

8. Stir in the tomato puree and bring the mixture to a simmer.

9. Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer while the chicken cooks.

10. Once the chicken is cooked, add it to the skillet with the sauce and toss to coat.

11. Reduce heat to low and let the mixture simmer for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

12. Stir in the heavy cream (or coconut cream) and cook for an additional minute or until heated through.
