Irish Beef Stew
A hearty and comforting stew made with tender beef and creamy sauce, inspired by traditional Irish cuisine.
Ingredients
- β1 pound beef stew meatcut into 1-inch cubes
- β1 large onionchopped
- β2 medium carrotspeeled and chopped
- β2 large potatoespeeled and chopped
- β2 tablespoons all-purpose flourfor dusting meat
- β1 cup creamy saucestore-bought or homemade
- β2 cups beef brothlow-sodium
- β1 teaspoon dried thymedried
- βto taste salt and pepper

1. Dust beef cubes with flour, shaking off excess.

2. In a large Dutch oven or pot, heat 2 tablespoons of oil over medium-high heat.

3. Brown beef cubes in batches until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes. Remove browned beef from pot.

4. Add chopped onion to pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

5. Add chopped carrots and potatoes to pot, cooking for an additional 5 minutes.

6. Add browned beef back to pot, along with beef broth, thyme, salt, and pepper.

7. Stir in creamy sauce, making sure it's well combined.

8. Bring stew to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 2-3 hours or until beef is tender.
