Traditional Norwegian Beef Stew
A hearty beef stew originating from Norway, made with tender cuts of beef and root vegetables. This comfort food is perfect for a cold winter's night.
Ingredients
- β1 pound Beef Stew Meat
- β1 medium Onionchopped
- β2 medium Carrotspeeled and chopped
- β2 large Potatoespeeled and chopped
- β2 tablespoons All-purpose Flour
- β2 cups Beef Broth
- β1 cup Red Wine
- βto taste Salt
- βto taste Black Pepper

Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add the beef and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.

Remove the beef from the pot and set aside.

Add the chopped onion to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the chopped carrots and potatoes to the pot and cook for 5 minutes.

Add the flour to the pot and cook for 1 minute.

Gradually add the beef broth and red wine to the pot, stirring to combine.

Return the beef to the pot and bring to a boil.
