Crispy Algerian Tagine Ham Croquettes
A French-inspired twist on traditional croquettes, featuring crispy Algerian tagine ham and served with a side of tangy aioli.
Ingredients
- β1 block (about 1 cup), finely chopped Algerian tagine ham
- β1/4 cup, chopped Fresh parsley
- β1/2 cup All-purpose flour
- β1 cup Breadcrumbs
- β1 large, lightly beaten Egg
- β2 tablespoons Butter, melted
- β1 clove Garlic, minced
- βto taste Salt and pepper
- βabout 1 cup, for dusting All-purpose flour

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

In a medium bowl, combine the chopped ham, parsley, flour, breadcrumbs, egg, melted butter, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well until the ingredients are evenly distributed.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

When ready to fry, line a baking sheet with parchment paper and dust it with flour.

Using a spoon, drop small portions of the ham mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, shaping them into small cylinders.

Fry the croquettes in hot oil until they are crispy and golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.

Drain the croquettes on paper towels and serve with a side of aioli for dipping.

To make the aioli, combine 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, and 1 minced garlic clove in a small bowl. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to serve.
