Turkish-Style Chicken Manti

Ingredients
- β1 pound chicken drumsticksbone-in, skin-on
- β1 medium onionfinely chopped
- β3 cloves garlicminced
- β1 teaspoon ground cumin
- β1 teaspoon ground coriander
- β1/2 teaspoon salt
- β1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- β2 cups all-purpose flour
- β1 cup fresh water
- β1 package manti dough (homemade or store-bought)
Instructions
- 1
Preheat the oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).
- 2
In a large bowl, mix together the chicken drumsticks, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
In a separate bowl, combine the flour and water to make a dough. Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- 4
Divide the dough into small balls, about the size of a small egg. Roll out each ball into a thin circle.
- 5
Place a tablespoon of the chicken mixture in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape, and press the edges together to seal the manti.
- 6
Place the manti on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving about 1 inch of space between each dumpling.
- 7
Brush the tops of the manti with a little water and sprinkle with a pinch of salt.
- 8
Bake the manti in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
- 9
Serve the manti hot with a dollop of yogurt and a sprinkle of sumac, if desired.
