Poke Bowl with Smoky Tofu
A fusion dish combining the flavors of Brazil with the popular Hawaiian poke bowl. Grilled smoky tofu, mixed with garlicky Brazilian spices, served over a bed of poke.
Ingredients
- β1 block (12 oz) tofuExtra-firm, drained and cut into bite-sized pieces
- β3 cloves garlickyMinced
- β1 can (12 oz) canned poke (tuna)drained and flaked
- β1 tsp Brazilian spicesSmoked paprika, cumin, and coriander
- β2 tbsp soy sauceor to taste
- β1 tsp sesame oilor to taste
- β2 tbsp rice vinegaror to taste
- β1/4 cup sliced green onionsoptional
- β1/4 cup sesame seedsoptional

1. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.

2. In a small bowl, whisk together garlic, Brazilian spices, soy sauce, sesame oil, and rice vinegar.

3. Toss the tofu in the marinade and set aside for at least 10 minutes.

4. Grill the tofu for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.

5. Meanwhile, mix the poke with the remaining marinade and set aside.

6. To assemble the poke bowls, place a scoop of rice on the bottom, followed by a scoop of the poke mixture, and then top with the grilled tofu and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
