Croatian Ramen with Glazed Pork Belly
A unique fusion of Croatian and Japanese flavors featuring a rich glazed pork belly on top of a savory ramen broth.
Ingredients
- ●1 piece (about 1 kg) Pork bellyScore the skin for crispy texture
- ●2 tbsp Glazed soy sauceHomemade or store-bought
- ●2 sheets KatsuobushiDried and fermented bonito flakes
- ●200g Ramen noodlesJapanese-style wheat noodles
- ●1 medium OnionThinly sliced
- ●2 cloves GarlicMinced
- ●2 tbsp Sesame oilFor serving
- ●1 bunch Green onionsThinly sliced

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).

Season the pork belly with salt and black pepper.

In a small saucepan, combine 2 tbsp of soy sauce and 2 tbsp of water.

Bake the pork belly in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

Increase the oven temperature to 220°C (425°F) and bake for another 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, cook the ramen noodles according to the package instructions.

In a separate saucepan, heat 2 tbsp of sesame oil over medium heat.

Add the thinly sliced onion and sauté until caramelized.

Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.

Add the dried katsuobushi and cook for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.

Add the cooked ramen noodles to the saucepan and toss everything together.

Slice the glazed pork belly into thin strips.
