French Golden Gratin Casserole
A rich and creamy casserole made with golden potatoes, brown onions, and savory sausage, topped with a crispy gratin crust.

- β3-4 medium-sized Golden Potatoes
- β2 medium Brown Onions
- β1 pound Sausage
- β2 tablespoons French Butter
- β1 cup shredded Gratin Cheese
- βto taste Salt and Pepper
- β1 sprig Fresh Thyme

Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

Peel the potatoes and slice them into 1/8-inch thick rounds.

In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium-high heat, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.

Add the sliced onions to the skillet and cook until they are softened and lightly browned.

In a separate saucepan, melt the French butter over medium heat.

Add the grated cheese to the saucepan and stir until it is melted and smooth.

Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with some of the melted butter.

Arrange a layer of potatoes in the bottom of the baking dish.

Top the potatoes with a layer of the sausage and onion mixture.
