Syrian-Style Crispy Heavenly Tofu
A Chinese-inspired dish that combines the crispy exterior of Syrian-style fried tofu with the heavenly flavors of Chinese cuisine.

- β1 cup Syrian-style panko breadcrumbsfor coating

- β1/2 teaspoon Garlic powderfor marinating
- β1/4 teaspoon Saltfor marinating
- β1/4 teaspoon Black pepperfor marinating

1. In a shallow dish, whisk together rice vinegar, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

2. Add the cubed tofu to the marinade and toss to coat. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes.

3. Preheat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

4. In a separate dish, mix together the panko breadcrumbs and cornstarch.

5. Remove the tofu from the marinade, letting any excess liquid drip off.
