Chicken Torta
A twist on the classic Italian sub, Chicken Torta combines tender chicken with bold Mexican flavors.
Ingredients
- β1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts chickencut into thin cutlets
- β2 tablespoons Italian seasoning jazzy
- β2 tablespoons taco seasoning mexican
- β1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper spicy
- β4 Italian-style sub rolls tortillas
- β1 cup shredded cheese, such as mozzarella or cheddar tacos
- β1 cup sliced provolone cheese provolone
- β1 head lettuce, shredded lettuce
- β2 large tomatoes, sliced tomato
- β2 tablespoons mayonnaise mayo

1. Preheat oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

2. In a small bowl, mix together Italian seasoning, taco seasoning, and cayenne pepper. Rub the spice mixture all over the chicken cutlets.

3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5-6 minutes per side, or until cooked through.

4. Meanwhile, toast the sub rolls in the oven for 2-3 minutes, or until lightly browned.

5. Assemble the sandwiches by spreading mayonnaise on the bottom half of each roll, followed by a chicken cutlet, a few slices of cheese, some lettuce, tomato, and a dollop of mayonnaise on top.

6. Place the sandwiches under the broiler for 1-2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
